Next steps after NOA 2

I received a text/email on May 26th stating my I-129F petition had been approved. I received it in the mail today and it says it has been forward to the embassy. I have read on here and saw where all are suppose to go through the NVC before being sent over there. Is that correct? Also what will happen now. What are the next steps involved in my journey? Especially with like packet 3 or 4. Any help from members would be greatly appreciated.

USCIS forwards it to the embassy through the NVC. You will receive another letter from the NVC in approx 2weeks which will give you an approximate time when the embassy will receive the case file. When they receive it, the embassy will then send you/beneficiary a letter with instructions(packet 3) on what to do next. Packet 4 is just your interview appointment which you will get once you've completed everything in packet 3. Good Luck!!

You can also call NVC if you haven't heard anything about the 10day-2 week mark and give them your case number. They will tell you when it was sent to the Embassy. The Embassy will send your fiancee packet 3 but if you want to get started on packet 3 the beneficary can look at the beneficary's embassy (Indonesia) site which will list the contents of packet 3 (DS156, DS156K etc). These can be downloaded from the downloads at the top of this page. Look at the K1 guide and that together with your fiancee's embassy information should cover what you need to know.

She can get the forms ready for packet 3 as well as supporting information etc ready for the interview. You can wait for everything to arrive, but if you have the forms and supporting information ready in advance it will speed things up a little. Best of luck.

Pack.3 will be mailed to you and give you instructions as to what the consulate requires you to get. They also give you a checklist. Try to keep as much information within 30 days, although criminal checks and stuff are usualy good for a year.

You can search somewhere in your country portal for a copy of what pkg. 3 looks like.

Once you have your checklist filled you are good to go. I faxed mine in. I thought that within 4 weeks of that fax that I would recieve a letter ( AKA pkg.4 ) giving me about a 7 week timeframe to my interview. NOPE

I faxed my checklist, and they emailed me a date set 2 weeks away.

So make sure you are prepared !

Ive noticed that most people from recieving pkg. 3 and faxing it off to the consulate is usualy about 4 months .. so you have lots of time to prepare.

Here is what I got off your pkg. 3 for your country

Packet 3 Contains:

DS-156

DS-156K

DS-230 Part 1 & 2

I-134

Forms needed for the medical.

DS-2053

DS-3024

DS-3025

DS-3026

*******

Effective for all NIV appointments on and after 1 May 2010, use of the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) is mandatory. Please replace any reference to DS-156/7/8 with DS-160.
