The USCIS says they mailed the petition to the NVC for processing. The NVC says they never got it, four weeks later.

I was told to email them a scanned copy of the NOA2 to the NVC so they can investigate it. Still have heard nothing.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before??? I'm getting a little frustrated I almost want to see if they'd let me mail them the extra copy of the petition that I have. How can they just lose it like that?? I want him here on time, not delayed!

Yes its happened to me in the past and somebody here just recently. I contacted the congressman in my district. He found out that it was put in an "Offsite storage facility" instead of going off to NVC. Same with the other poster the congressman was able to figure it out.

Good luck! Thats the whole problem USCIS and NVC don't seem to coorrdinate, leaving us little guys in the dark.

This is exactly what we went thru. Its happens to many people. Your case isnt lost. USCIS finishes the case by placing a bar code on the case file. It is then forwrded to NVC. USCIS doesnt hold the finished cases.

You can not mail a copy of the petition to NVC because it wont have been approved by USCIS.

The USC should make on INFO PASS appointment to sit down with USCIS. My husband did this 3 times trying to find the case. USCIS told him " this just never happens" & began to try to find the file. They never did. They never responded to the letters they asked him to write (9). NVC told him to write. He did. They never responded.

The USC should enlist the help of their U S Senator. Find their web site. Find the form for immigration help. Print & send in. Sit back & wait for about 30 days. A letter will be sent to the USC. It will say USCIS is trying to find the case. Once that is done the USC can call the good Senators staff to see what more they can or will do. It isnt much.

Meanwhile your case could be in A P or simply in a box with hundreds of other waiting for NVC to process. Eventually it will surface & be completed. Mine took 408 days.

On time? I am sorry to say that wont happen. These agencys are very busy & people are having to wait longer than at other times.

408 days thats a nightmare beyond belief!

In my case INFO PASS told me nothing but 'wait'.

After the congressman got it, it took all of a month for NVC to receive it.

INFO PASS is an online way of making an appointment with your local USCIS office.

Well its good you have a family member so just mention to him that USCIS often send it in the wrong truck or something and stores it in the wrong place! :bonk::whistle:

AP is Administrative Processing, like they have to do extra checks on your case. You don't want that to happen.

I just called the Senator up and he said they'll start tomorrow to do what they can to help. It was very nice of him to take my call, because at the end he said he was in the middle of a parade!

Oh my goodness, now I really think that the people waiting more than 6 months for their NOA2 has their visa applications sitting in a box somewhere that no one knows where to find it. What a nightmare.

It is so funny that I keep reading that senators help on this. My senators office said that they do not have any power to get my visa application processed. They said they would send an inquiry. They did and got the same answer I did. Wait 180 more days. I told the Senator's office that I already waiting 6 months. They said that is just how long it takes. No help at all.

But at least I know they did inquire because they got the same answer I did.

I pray your Senator presses someone on this because this is just ridiculous. Wait to get the NOA2 and then they lose the petition. NUTS :wacko::wacko:

They can be quite helpful when they can do something about it. Unfortunately when you are in background check not even a Senator can do anything but await the results.

I know you're frustrated, good luck to you too!

After reading this post and after what happened to me and my application, I can only wonder just how crazy this whole process is. They approved my application, and it got sent back. It turns out the Vermont service center made a mistake and did not do half of what they were supposed to do. Now I read that they can not even get a application to the NVC. People should not have to contact their Senator to find out about a simple application. I am finding out that it is easier and better to back to work back overseas then it is to deal with this goverment.
