I filed my K3 visa along with I-130 on November 10, 2010....... Is there any body in the forum who filed in November and got approved in May???????

Hello,

I didn't read the whole thread, but this is my experience:

I filed in October and started calling USCIS right from 5 months 00 days and continued to hear that my application is not over the timeframe. I tried to open up a Service Request (SR), but none of the operators would do that because they kept saying like puppet that unless you are over the timeframe, they cannot open an SR. When you ask what timeframe they are referring, they will you tell you when they can open up an SR. I had few disgusting heated discussion with these group of people who probably had no clue and were telling some scripted sentences.

Finally on 6 months 00 days, I was able to hold on to their 3rd level supervisor and demanded an answer. The guy opened up an SR right away. 2 days later my case was approved and sent to NVC. In the mean time, I also contacted my local senator (New York) and the approval came in the day before I planned to send all the information to the Senators office.

Do I need to say anything more? I wish you good luck brother.

I am also a November filer who filed the K-3 Spousal Visa application which means I sent I-130 and I-129F. I have still not been approved. I contacted my Senator and that did not help. I got the same letter some of you received after filing a service request. Case still in background checks, if you do not hear anything within 180 days, please inquire again.

It seems to me that the men who call in and talk to supervisors are getting more attention than when we woman call in. I could be mistaken, but everytime I read about a man getting angry, they get results. I think when women get angry, we just look bad.

I agree with many of the VJ members that this is a long and painful process. I would not mind just sitting back and waiting my turn, but when you see others get approved in 2 or 3 months, you feel like your case is lost.

I do not know what the answer to this is, but the only control me and my husband have found is to set a deadline as to how long we will wait and then move to another country.
