So excited! Got the letter from NVC today! But odd... when i call the number at nvc and put in the INS receipt number, it says no record of it. I have the case number, but i'm sure that i dont enter that when i do option 1, option 1 and then optin 4 (for WAC) and then our numbers. Either way, super stoked!!

Close to my date... Welcome to the May Filers!

Yeah we're still waiting too.

I wish Ice would see the discussions here because he is getting more depressed each day. There is only so much I can do.

And something happened last night that we need some advice...

Ice went to the hospital to ask some general information about the medical. We haven't gotten NOA2 yet, but we wanted to be prepared. They thought that he wanted to DO the medical, but he told them "Can I do it later when I get a case number?" and they said "when do you think your interview date will be?"

He told them hopefully the end of Oct or beginning of November, and they told him that he should do it now because it is "rude to think that the doctor will just be available when you want him to be...he is very busy and you should just do it now!"

So, he was pushed into doing to medical today and then at the end they told him to come back the next day with a case number. He repeated to them that he didn't have one. Now we're wondering if we just wasted our money.

Do you think they can keep those results from the medical on file (hold) until we get a case number so we can finish the exam (vaccinations)? Or do you think we'll have to do it over again?

I called the hospital but they refused to speak to both of us and told him to come back in tomorrow. :/ (sorry so long post)

Sounds kind of odd to me... did he see one of the panel physicians listed on the US Embassy in Bangkok website? Did he bring his passport photos and vaccination record? Here are the medical examination instructions for Thailand... hope this helps! http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/med_instructions_apr11.pdf

Hmmmmm ok, maybe somebody has insight for me? I called NVC just now (suprised they're still open) and spoke to operator. Gave him all the info and he said the case has already been forwarded to the embassy. I asked him when and he said the 30th of August. So, i guess the letter i got i misunderstood? It says in 1 week the embassy should have our stuff and that was on August 31, so.... that means NVC got our papers and already forwarded to the embassy? Just kinda excited and i'm hoping thats what's going on.

Yeah he went to one of the doctors that was on the list. He went to McCormick in Chiang Mai. Right at this second, he should be at the hospital again. I hope it turns out ok.....grrrrrrr

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

Update: Yay! They let Ice do his medical even tho we don't have a case number or NOA2! And I called and squeezed information out of the VSC that our case is "currently under review"... good, no?

Sounds like a standard answer. While I was in between USCIS and NVC, I began to think that USCIS operators would feed you the best line of bull they could pull out of their back side at that particular moment. Your case is probably waiting on background checks to be completed. That's one of the many reasons cases can take so long to adjudicate. Remember, I was approved at 94 on Igor's. You're not that far from that point.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great and blessed holiday weekend!

Does anyone know if when you get your 2nd NOA, do you get the text / e-mail right away (provided you sent in the form) or will you get the notification at 1am just like the NOA1 ?

I see someone already got their NOA2 today, 9/6/11, and as the time draws nearer (and the excitement too) I'm more curious when to expect the text message... I'm hoping it's right away and not delayed.

I signed up for text/email confirmation. I got the text for the NOA2 at 6:30 pm. I had just pulled up to the fuel pumps to fill the tanks on the truck (I drive a semi for a living) when my phone went off. I had to read it a couple of times before it sank in that I needed to check my email. When I logged into my email, the message that we were approved was there. The thing that really topped off the night and made it truly a great one was that the Cubs won that day.
