Comments : It took about an hour from the time I entered secondary till the Immigration Officer began processing my documents in the sealed envelope. The IO was the kindest IO I have ever come across... not stern at all, she was smiling and laughing during the 15 minutes it took to process everything. Wish they were all like her!

I made a request to USCIS to expedite my EAD on Feb 14, and faxed them my evidence on Feb 16. Still no word by Feb 29, so I contacted our congressman, and on March 2 my EAD (and AP) was approved!

POE Review: Vancouver
Event Description
Entry Date : 2012-01-10
Embassy Review : I definitely recommend getting to the airport 3 hours ahead of time. My flight was at 8:45am, and I got to the airport by 6am. By the time I checked my bags, went through security, etc. it was 6:30am when I went through Immigration. I was in secondary for about an hour and 20 minutes - there were a lot of people waiting ahead of me, and I waited over an hour before an Immigration Officer began processing my documents in the sealed envelope. The IO was the kindest IO I have ever come across... not stern at all, she was smiling and laughing during the 20 minutes it took to process everything. Wish they were all like her! I surprised to see my checked bags there behind the counter. She x-rayed them and searched one of my bags - I guess she found what she was looking for: a bottle of vitamins. I got out of there at 7:50am... enough time to grab breakfast at Tim Horton's and get to the gate without having to rush. Fine experience at YVR POE!
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
