Yes, thank you so much! Amazing that I can sign in here at the end of the day and see that, you guys are amazingly helpful...seriously, too kind!

Thanks for the information re: Dr. Kelly and the police and birth certificates. I can't imagine how much longer this process would have taken had we waited for the packet and then had to stumble our way through the process and find everything without the aid and experience of other people. I can't thank you guys enough!

It´s ok, we´re all in the same boat, so we just try to help eachother out!!!

Hello friends, a question.

My novia took the signed copy of her birth certificate that she got at her local poder judicial and signed by a judge, took it to OCA today to mail to the Ministerio del Interior, and the workers at OCA said that she had to send it to the Ministerio with a request that they add the Apostilla de La Haya. I've never heard of this being necessary and didn't see it in anyone's posts or the scans of the directions in the packet. Can someone clarify if this is necessary, or if this is what the Ministry already does when they provide a legalized copy, or what? I'm sure it's not a big deal, but my novia is freaking out that some postal workers told her something that she's never heard of as part of the instructions. If anyone has any information on this, I'd appreciate any guidance!

Thanks!

Whoops, didn't see your prior message about this same problem, Carolina. Please disregard. I now understand why everyone is claiming we need the apostilla, but I see now that it's not necessary, and I also understand why it's probably not necessary at this stage because the documents aren't to be presented or used in the U.S.
