AOS Filing fee = $985? + Biometrics?

My fiance entered the US on a K-1 Visa and we are now adjusting her status after our marriage. The correct filing fee is $985, correct?

**Should I send in a Money order for this amount($985)?

**How much are the Biometrics fees?

**Should I wait for the Biometrics Notice before adding those fees to our original package? Or should they be included with the original AOS package?

It is $1070, including the biometrics fee. You can use just one cheque for the whole AOS fee and send it with your package. I don't recommend money orders, only because lately it has been taking so long for people to get their NOA1, and using a cheque will let you keep some sanity, since you'll know when it was cashed :) :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

The total fee is $1070 and it needs to be paid all at once or they will send your petition back to you.

2010-10-18(Day 1): Mailed again :)

2011-03-17(Day 159): Interview - Review file response

2011-03-18(Day 160): Card production email/text for Green Card!

2011-03-21(Day 163): Welcome to USA letter received

2011-03-22(Day 164): Another text for card production! Start printing GC?

2011-03-23(Day 165): Text/email moving into post decision activity! Mail GC?

2011-03-26(Day 168): GC in hand and done for 3-10 years depending on the citizenship decision...Still unsure!

N400 - Dallas Lock box

2017-02-13(Day 1): Finally made the decision to apply for citizenship. Package went in mail

2017-02-16(Day 4): 1st NOA "went background checks are complete interview will be scheduled" no mention of Biometrics

2017-03-03(Day 15) Biometrics letter arrives scheduled for 2017-03-13 Might try a walk in earlier

I would sent a personal check instead of MO.. so you can keep track/records

Wow lots of money. Ok great. I didnt know if personal check was ok. Im used to the K-1 process and sent my wife with cash in hand! Thanks everyone. :thumbs:

You can find the most up to date filling fee at the USCIS.gov website, which you need to visit to download the form to submit.

  • 05-10-11 Day 61 = Bio-Metrics Appointment

Just wondering, about my case, I have my K2 with me, how much would be all in all is the AOS for the 2 of us?

I paid $1070 for my wife (K1), and $1070 for her 14 year old daughter (K2) about six months ago.
