We filed on the expiration date of my GC this Saturday (VT office). I'm worried sick about it! During all my immigration filings (and there've been many), I was never late but with baby, work, building a house, and two dogs, I procrastinated. My hubby gave me the lecture.. anyways, technically we did file before the 90 days expired. I'm hoping that would count for something.

I sent them "a book" of papers:

* Marriage certificate

* Hubby's passport showing international trips for our wedding abroad

* Daughter's birth certificate, social security card, and medical record by the state (she was a preemie)

* Insurance: Cars, renter's, life. In the rush I forgot to send mine *panic!* but I sent his.

* 401K: showing beneficiaries and balance

* Tax Returns: from 2008 - 2010 we filed jointly

* Bills: cable, water, electric, student loans, daycare, cars (they're both on my name though, but the money comes from the joint bank account.

* Bank Statements: savings and checking statements from 2008 - 2011

* Lease for the last 1 1/2 years. We went through a corporate relocation in 2009 that took us from FL to PA.

* New House: Filed Every paper signed and all the mortgage information

* Pictures: I sent pictures when we were dating, wedding pictures, pictures of our weekends in the great outdoors (every weekend), pictures of trips to TN, VA, WA, TX, pictures of our wedding abroad, pictures of the pregnancy, pictures of the hospital bed rest (ugly ugly ugly), pictures of the delivery of our 3 pound munchkin, pictures of the 8 weeks at the Neo-natal intensive care unit, pictures of the baby though her first year. *pictures pictures pictures*

Hopefully I didn't overdo it. This is the first time I have filed without using an attorney so we're a bit nervous. We'll feel much better once the filing gets approved.

Good luck to us all!!!

Also, welcome clauski :)

Sounds like you have a great collection of evidence there! I had hardly anything by comparison - thankfully we moved recently, or else I wouldn't have even had a lease with my name on it. You're brave to send in so many photos!

I am confused, peeps.. So, is NOA1 the date that the package was delivered at USCIS or the date we receive NOA from them? If it is when it was delivered, then add May 6 to the list. Thanks

It's the date on the NOA1 received. The NOA1 is the letter that states they have received your application, have extended your greencard for another year, and in which they tell you they will send your biometrics appointment information soon.

So I posted my package on 05/03, received the letter 05/09, and the date on the letter was 05/06. I live in California so evidently the letter didn't take very long to reach me! :)

That was I thought, Alex & Rachel. Wow, looks like Cali Center works way faster than the VT one. So, it only took 6 days for you to receive the NOA1. But for another May filer (CA) it only took 3 (!!!) days. That what made me get confused . There is no way, the USCIS did it for such an extremely short period . Let's say, it took 1 day for a package to be delivered, 1 day for USCIS to look at it, and the last 3rd day for the NOA to be sent to the filer.

I may be wrong.. I wish all immigration services worked that fast :-D

Tell me about it! Well, enjoying and also getting stressed out by. I finished an essay for school at 5 am this morning, and two hours later was leaving for work...

Good luck putting your package together! I found this the easiest part of the whole visa process so far. :)

Looking at a few of the other threads, it does indeed appear that CSC simply is that fast! There's only one day between one December filer's mailing date and the date on their NOA1.

AOS was also fairly swift through CSC. Sorry for all of you filing at VSC!

indeed, we moved to NC 2 years ago from OH...ahhh and OH is under CSC :crying: and we are moving AGAIN to FL, and its VSC too

My husband was in the Military and he just got out, thats why we move alot  now we don't have the address in FL because we don't have a place yet, so we just used a friend address and we attached a letter explaining that to them, I'm hoping things go smoothly :innocent:

- Delivered to VSC 05/09/11

- NOA receipt date 05/09/11

- Check cashed 05/12/11

Alex& Rachel, I believe christera22 meant that her package was received by CSC on 5/9/11. There is no way it could be the date of christera22's NOA since package was filed on 5/6 (which is Friday) and the date you posted as NOA date and the date christera22 made the post is 5/9 (which is Monday) .

Please add us in. Sent to California Service Centre. Sent on 5/6/11 via USPS. Received on 5/9/11. Thanks a lot.

I am so blase` about this compared to the adjustment of status and K-1 stuff. Both those situations we were waiting to receive something to get life going. Since we are already busy with life this is just essentially a rubber stamp on it.

with that said... godspeed VSC

Emmett Fitz-Hume: I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end, and I found out I received nothing... broke my arm.
