We were pretty straightforward with ours:

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is (beneficiary's name), and my NVC case number is ___.

I would like to appoint my husband as my agent of choice to receive all the correspondence from NVC. His name and address is:

(USC's name)

(address)

All mail from the U.S. Department of State concerning my immigrant visa application should be send to the address above. Thank-you for your help.

Sincerely,

(beneficiary's name)

That is an excellent sample letter.

If we communicate this by e-mail, do we still need to mail in a form?

Alice

Email will suffice it. You don't need to mail the form. NVC will reply your email stating that your choice of agent is accepted. But the email has to be sent by the beneficiary.

Did this all last week, as per James Shortcuts, but still have a question. My wife sent the email and it was accepted, but before the DS-3032 was generated. Do I still need to wait for the AOS Fee Bill to be generated or can I send it in right away? I guess the question is will the system accept the AOS Fee now, and if so what should I put for the bill date?

PLEASE wait until it has been generated. James Shortcuts are outside of the normal/accepted way of doing things. NVC receiving forms and fees prior to them being generated does nothing but draw attention to the self generating and may affect the future use of the shortcuts. Again, please wait for things to be generated.

As Aussiewench stated, please wait until NVC generates the AOS Fee Bill.

(Thanks, simple male.) ;)

We (I) :P initially jumped the gun and sent NVC the Choice of Agent email as soon as they assigned our case number. They ignored it. When we found out the form was generated and resent the email, they accepted it right away.

What about if email on behalf of the beneficiary? how do they find out if email comes from the beneficiary?
