2yr conditional greencard and going out of the country

Hi there,

I have my 2 year conditional green card and its going to expire on December 07, 2011. Me and my husband are planning to go to Cancun next month (May 2011) for memorial weekend. My question is, Am I ok to go out of the country with my 2 year conditional green card that will expire in 7mos from May 2011? I just want to make sure before I leave the country.

I was under the impression you had to file an Advance Parole I-131 Form??? Hope you've not book anything, I've read people's applications can take months to be approved.

Yes. when you file for the new one, your NOA1 will incluide a letter extending your current card for 1 year and you are fine to travel outside the country with that also.
