My wife received her green card in the mail yesterday(no interview) and was wondering, does she need to have her passport stamped for I-551? If so where would she have to go to get this done? Thnx :thumbs:

Met on Thailovelines.com on 4/20/09

Met her in Thailand on 7/17/09

Proposed to her In Bangkok on 7/25/09

Returned alone back to Tx on 8/2/09

Finalized my divorce after 17 months on 12/9/09

Filed I-129f at VSC on 12/22/09

NOA1 on 12/28/09

Touch on 3/13/10

Touch again on 3/15/10

NOA2 on 3/16/10 ....(took 79 days from my NOA1)

Received at NVC on 3/24/10

Medical and Background on 4/22/10

Embassy received packet 3 on 5/27/10

Interview passed on 7/16/10

Arrived in Texas on 7/26/10 .....finally!!!!!!!!

**Married on 9/25/10** :)

Sent off I-485 on 1/3/11

Sent off I-765 on 1/3/11

NOA I-485 on 1/10/11

NOA I-765 on 1/10/11

Biometric on 1/28/11

EAD I-765 approved on 3/14/11

I-485 transfered to CSC on 3/15/11

EAD card in hand on 3/16/11

SS card received on 3/25/11

NOA I-485 approved on 4/18/11

GREEN CARD RECEIVED ON 4/20/11 (No Interview)

(REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS)

Sent package off on 2/11/13

Because of course, she now has an I-551!

The I-551 is available as a stamp in your passport. There's also a physical version, more commonly known as a green card! :rofl: You only need one I-551 and you've got it!

Yeah I figured that..however she reads alot of forums of people talking about getting the stamp so just figured I'd ask anyway, thnx!

I was worrying about the same thing, I never got a stamp on my passport when the office approved me, but did get my GC pretty fast and im going out of the country for vacation and wanted to make sure that I will be ok with just a passport and GC

11/09/2010- Sent out I485, I-130, I-765 Applications Chicago Office11/14/2010- USCIS recieved my applications11/18/2010- Received Receipts11/29/2010- Received my biometrics appointment scheduled for 12/17/201012/17/2010- Biometrics Done01/07/2011- Interview Scheduled for Feb 7th.01/21/2011- Received Email saying EAD card production01/26/2011- Received Email again saying EAD card production01/31/2011- Received EAD Card in the Mail02/07/2011- AOS Interview - Green Card Approved!!!!02/08/2011- Received Email Card/Document Production11/30/2012- Mailed out I-75112/07/2012- Received NOA12/11/2012- Received Biometric Appointment letter

12/28/2012- Biometric Appointment

05/28/2013 - Approval Letter Recieved

08/26/14- Interview Appointment/ Citizenship test ( APPROVED :D )

Ok good!

I was worrying about the same thing, I never got a stamp on my passport when the office approved me, but did get my GC pretty fast and im going out of the country for vacation and wanted to make sure that I will be ok with just a passport and GC

the stamp is given as a courtesy when requested.
