Hello everyone, I am a new member here in VJ and am in urgent help. I have a situation...my husband will be having his interview in CDJ Mexico pretty soon, and his medical exam as well. He has an hernia and we are worried that they might deny his visa because of the medical exam results...any one know if this is likely to happen...maybe you have been through a similar situation or know someone who did. Thanks in advance so much for the replies and help.

A hernia is definitely NOT a reason to deny. They just want to make sure he has no serious diseases that would harm the US public, like Tuberculosis. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

A hernia is not a reason to deny someone a visa

You might have to show medical insurance if his hernia is likely to need further medical attention while in the US

Good luck

Thank you so much, I'm just kind of worried. I am just kinda freaking out...My US insurance was cancelled and will not be able to get insurance for my husband until 2012. The only other thing I am worrying about is compiling evidence of our marriage. He's never been in the US. My sister and his brother introduced us, we are from the same hometown in Mexico and during that visit, I stayed over a month and we decided to get married. I have some emails not many, and April video calls through web cam, pictures he sent me, pictures of us together in July 2010, August 2010 and December 2010, January 2011. I visited him for three weeks in December 2010. We also plan on getting affidavits from 5 relatives and friends each. Do you think this will be enough evidence? I'm also wondering what is this police report that I keep seeing people talk about.

Any help from all VJ family will greatly be appreciated...I will be woking on posting my timeline tonight. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply it was helpful and helped calm my nerves...jejeje..I don't think it is a strong reason either but, you never know what kind of excuses they come up with to deny.

I am curently working on compiling evidence of our marriage...nervous about that too...I see a lot of people have joint accounts, bills, etc...we don't.

I travelled by BUS and I don't think that I have the tickets anymore. What else can I use?

If they stamped your passport that will be great evidence (I know in Mexico they often don't stamp it when you go by land and if they do they sometimes don't like to use ink!) or if you still have the visa they issued. Also anything you can think of that shows you were there like ATM receipts that shows the town and your account number. I also added copies of a lot of things I had saved that had the name of the town but not necessarily my name. Photos of the two of you together are really good.

The "antecedentes no penales" you will need to obtain from every city your husband lived for 6 months or more since the age of 18. He will need to get them in person from the police department. Sometimes they are instant, sometimes they take a couple days to be ready. Most need a passport style photo and all require a small fee.
