I just got the appointmentletter ... NO specification if I still owe them a fee ... Needless to say, I'll call and ask anyway to make sure... Other required documents are collected, calling doctorsoffice first thing monday and do medical Maybe I can push it to an earlier date, you may never know It's worth the try i'd say ... but with the embassy up here only working monday tuesday and thursday from 2 - 4pm ... I doubt it...

Btw, only news I got for the Interview is the appointmentletter from NVC through my and my husbands email.

+ When we have the visa in hands... I remember something like 'the big brown envelope' you cant open?

That envelope will be clearly marked with the words "do not open." When you arrive, you will give it to the CBP officer, they will know what to do with it. FYI, there may be one of the corners on that envelope that has a cut on it, that is normal.

But, does that envelope that you CAN NOT OPEN contain your visa/international passport?

Cause, without that its impossible for yourself to be able to travel...

Ahh,, okay I take it you get your Passport/visa in hands, and that packet contains all your applications, your whole case since the beginning..

I am probably not posting this in the right place, but I have an important question for the Bogota embassy interview for a Bogota Colombia interview for a CR-1 visa.

My wife is in Colombia now and I am picking up the documents for the NVC DS-230, or the packet we need to send in after the NOA2 approval.

I am questioning what I send to the NVC. Basically, can I send ALL of the original papers and documents needed on the Bogota site? I will leave her medical exam and the passports, but everything else gets sent in--correct?

Then, I keep reading about the interviews at the Bogota embassy and how people are given a checklist and time to prepare documents. Basically, we only have one set of original documents and those are going to the NVC.

So, can she just bring in photocopies to the interview of the papers in case of they want to see them? Basically, we don't want the papers back. Getting copes is basically the same as certified originals and we don't need them because in Colombia, they require recent copies in most instances.

So, can she show with the copies of all of the forms we filled, the AOS--signed by me, not a copy, her passport, medical, and be ok? I am mailing in the DAS immigration entry-exit form for her and me to the NVC too? She will also bring in a ton of pictures etc...

Am I missing anything? Will there be an issue if she doesn't bring additional certified copies?

Just emailed the US Embassy Brussels to request an earlier date!

Ready to do the interview, and I'd be more than happy to catch my hubby before he leaves with the Army.
