I dont get it. If there is a false hit can't they compare DOB check job histort etc to confirm it isnt same person pretty quick?

My senator's aide has been very unhelpful and rude to me throughout this process. She will not even answer my emails anymore. I think she is mad I was bugging her about my case for so long.

What a nightmare. I have heard this can take years...seriously? I would go back to mexico to live before I would just stay in limbo that long even tho I dont want to. How can they expect couples to deal w this for yrs? If we get thru this initial stage will we have same problem after interview?

Yes, it is most likely due to your fiance having a common name. Each time a hit comes up in the name check it requires a "human being" (I use the term loosely!) to manually remove it. This is why some cases take years. I guess on the bright side they are putting you through this before his interview so that perhaps he will get his visa at the interview rather than getting put into AP. Our interview came quite quickly and we thought we were doing alright but were nabbed with AP at that point. It has now been over 6 months in AP with no end in sight. If I could move to London I would have done that at this point becuase this process is beyond ridiculous! I completely relate to your frustration and hope you hear something very soon!

I am very upset. My K1 application has been pending for six months. My senator had been told we could request expedite at six months. When she followed up on that with USCIS she got this reponse:

The processing of your constituent’s petition has been delayed. All petitions or applications received by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) are required to have routine security checks that are resulting in delays of the adjudication of petitions or applications. We can give no definite indication of when they will be completed. We apologize for the delay. You may wish to check the status in sixty days.

I am crying my eyes out. FI has a clean history..so do I..what would cause this? How long will this take if anyone else has gone thru this can tell me your experience?

WE RECEIVED THE EXACT SAME LETTER AFTER OUR SENATOR GOT INVOLVED, TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS FROM THE TIME WE WERE TOLD IT WAS DELAYED! DONT GIVE UP HOPE, 6 MONTHS IS JUST A STALL, CALL EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS AND ASK FOR UPDATES.

Thank you! That makes me feel so much better, knowing that you still got NOA2 a few weeks after receiving the same letter. I was really worried when I heard sixty days!

Ironically, I emailed the VSC email box to followup the other day and received a response that I was ONPT and that the officer had approved an expedite for me and I should hear something in five days. It remains to be seen if I will get the same response about administrative processing or.. crosses fingers..maybe some good news.

Have you tried contacting your USCIS (DHS) Ombudsman? http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/cisomb.shtm

This thread is over a year old and the OP's husband has already received his green card.
