Hi, I am wondering if anyone has some good advice.

My fiancée is from Belarus and we started the K1 visa process last January. On our I-134F we have requested that she have her interview in Moscow. She has an aunt who lives in Moscow and it is much more convenient for her. Now we are worried requesting the interview in Moscow may have been a mistake. If they deny the interview in Moscow and make her travel to Warsaw she may have a problem with her passport. To travel to Poland she needs a Schengen passport which she does not have. She can update her passport before the interview but then is it a problem to have a different passport then what we put in our I-134F packet? My thought is that this should not be a problem but we are just not sure. Does anyone have any info on this they could share?

Thanks in advance…

You mean the I-129F. They will most likely schedule your interview where you requested provided that they do a K-1 visa.

Interview will be scheduled in Poland despite what you wrote for your requested consulate.

FWIW, a different passport is not a problem.

Never heard of a "Schengen passport", but my wife did get a Schengen visa in her international passport. Perhaps things are much different in Belarus.

Here is what they decided for us. On the NOA2 the Department of Homeland Security listed Moscow as we requested. Then the NVC letter arrives and they listed Warsaw. I guess Olga will be going to Warsaw for her interview. Good thing she updated her passport!

Thank you to all who posted here.

As was predicted, DHS does not nor cannot assign the consulate, only the DOS does via NVC

YMMV
