Hey guys. I received a call from my lawyer's office saying that when they requested transcripts of my tax returns that the IRS did not include my W-2 forms. Lawyer's office also said that they requested again to receive the W-2 forms but it could take weeks for that to come in. She said that if I called the IRS that there's a chance they could fax me the forms. Is this true? From what I read you cannot get W-2 copies, only information from the W-2's themselves. Any help?

The IRS transcript includes all of the information on the W2. It is a transcript of your complete tax return. Confused as to why your lawyer does not know this...

Ok, now I'm convinced that lawyers are incompetent. I called back just to get clarification of why she needed it. She said that when they sent the 4506 (request for copy of tax return) that they FORGOT to check the w-2 box. She said that they re-sent it. This means that I can wait for them to respond back by snail mail, or she said that I might be able to call the IRS and they would fax it over to me. Anybody know the best course of action here? How long would the wait be anyhow? I have my 2010 w-2 and half of my 2009, I just need it from 1 more employer.
