I am new to this forum and this is my first post here. let me introduce my self first. My self Raj from India and i am working with an IT company in India. My parents & younger brother residing in US since 2008 and they are green card holder. Now my brother is going to be graduate this jun and he invite us (Me and My wife) for his convocation. my brother is work and study parallel since last 1 year and would it be fine if he sponsor all our trip expenses or my father would be the best sponsor? he is also doing a job since 2 years. what would be the best person to sponsor the trip?

I have appeared for F1 visa in December 2007 twice and my visa got rejected. When my visa got rejected my parents are in India and they already got US immigration visa in October 2007. Now my self and my wife would like to apply for B2 visa for my brother's convocation. I am bit nerves because my visa got rejected twice in 2007 and my parents are in US and no immediate relatives is in India. What answer i give the Visa Officer to convince that we will be back after attending convocation. As my wife is also doing a job in finance company and i am also working with an IT company, we will not get the leaves approved from our companies more then 20-25 days.

Another question is when i filled up my form DS-160 there is a question Previous Work/Education/Training Information i have filled all the necessary information and when i filled my wife's DS-160 form i didn't find such kind of question. As per my notice i think this question only comes if you select Gender: Male, i have tried with dummy applications too and found that the question only appears in applications where selected Gender is Male. I am not sure that is it so? If anybody has the idea related to this question please reply. Because there is no option asked for my wife's education details.

One of the question in DS-160 is Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the point of entry Explain. what explanation i give in this question so that there can not be a negative impression to visa officer's mind with this question. When my visa refused twice in december 2007 i have asked visa officer for the reason and she replied we are not supposed to give any reasons.

what kind of convincing answer i give to visa officer so that the chances of getting visa is getting increases. Don't VO thinks he(I) will not be back as his parents and his brother is in US, and his visa rejected twice in 2007.blah..blah

Hope i get the guidance from you.

Thanks for your time you spend to read and answer my question.

It will be difficult with parents and a brother in the US. YOu answer every question openly and honestly. The best answer isn't an answer but evidence of why you MUST return. What ties do you have to India? A job with an expected return date? A house with mortgage papers?

Good luck

All you can do is apply. Answer all questions honestly and provide as many ties as you have. Family, financial, etc.

the more/stronger ties you have, the better your chances. Think about it, why do you HAVE to return to India? What is prevening you from staying in the US beyond your authorized stay to visit your family?

Good luck

No sponsor is needed for a tourist visa, you need to qualify by yourself. A job alone may not be enough to get a visa, without family or property or major savings, but you can only try!

It will be difficult for you to get B2, since you have immd family living in US on perm basis.

you can apply, show letter from your employeer, that you are employeed and same for your wife, but that is not very strong ties as you can quit anytime.

Yes you will have to answer honestly your visa was rejected, if you dont tell that - do you think they dont see that on their system?

They already have that information on their system, so you lying on your application would be considered as mis-representation and that would ban you for US visa.

Somewhere on the form it does ask who is your employeer and it is irrespective of gender, coz I remember putting housewife for my mom.
