I am the USC. My fiance already sent the packet 3 to the Bangkok embassy. We are waiting for the packet 4 with her interview date. To this point in our processed, I submitted my 1040's and W-2. So, today I read some posts talking about tax transcripts. There where mixed answered depending on the embassy...Some VJ members said that they used their 1040's and their W-2's (just like I did) and they didn't have a problem. Other said that they submitted their Tax trasncripts from the IRS. Well, I just got off the phone with the IRS and they are going to send me my last 3 years worth of transcripts just in case. I figure it cannot hurt. I am hoping that the transcripts make to me on time for me to send to my fiance so that we can at least have them for her interview. I am worried about that.

Here is my question...Are there any Bangkok VJ members who submitted their 1040' and W-2's (no tax transcripts) during their interview and got approved?

Divingpcola, I am pretty close to you just not have have sent packet 3 yet. I have ordered my tax transcripts and it took about 7 business days for me to get. I hope that helps you. I sent 2007, 2008, and 2009 tax transcripts because it took until earlier this month for the irs to process my 2010 taxes. Last week I got my deposit from my refund waited 2 days and requested my 2010 tax transcript which I hope will be here by this coming Monday or sooner. Once I get that I am just going to scan that into a document and email it to Pui so she can either send it with packet 3 or if she sends packet 3 before she has it for the interview. She is on her way home now to get her certificate of unmarried so hopefully we can send packet 3 later this week or early next week. Let me know how far out they are scheduling interviews after they receive your packet 3.

After you get the tax transcripts you could always email the embassy and see if they want you to mail that to them or bring it to the interview.

I just saw this other post from the other day. Read Ning's response. Sounds like you will need those transcripts that you ordered. After you get them or even before I would email the embassy and ask them if they want them before the interview or you they can be brought for the interview. Good luck.

Andy,

Great news for me. I just got a PM from Kaiser (got approved last month). He only sent them the 1040's and the W-2's for the last 3 year. That is exactly what I already did. It looks like my fiance is going to be ok for her interview. Either way, as soon as I get the tax transcripts from the IRS, I am going to email them to her to take to the interview. It can't jurt, right?

I emailed the embassy today to see if they received the packet 3. As soon as hear from them I'll be sure to let you know. It is nice to have someone at the same stage of process as me from the same embasy. It is nice to compare notes.

I was pressed for time since my wife received 221g at the interview. I called the IRS and they faxed me the last 3 years right away. I had them in about 15 minutes.

Jeffrey also confirmed that they took his 1040's and W-2's as well. I believe they would take either one (transcripts or 1040's).

From what I have read on these forums the I-134 would by default follow the I-864. The instructions there state that you can use either tax transcripts or your tax return with all documents, W2's, 1099's, etc attached. I am pretty sure this is standard at most if not all consulates. Tax transcript is nice because its only a couple pages and very concise, containing everything the consulate needs to see. You also do not have to worry about forgetting some documents to attach to your tax return. Its less error prone.
