Hi all,

So we got our NOA2 on 1st March 2011. Fiance contacted NVC to find out if they have received anything and they say they have no record of our paperwork.

How long does it usually take to go from the service centre to NVC?

Did you call the automated line at the NVC? If so, try to speak to an operator, as we got our NOA2 from Vermont on 2nd March, tried the automated line at the NVC yesterday, got exactly the same response that 'there was no record of the paperwork'. Shortly after we managed to get through to an operator who told us that they had received the paperwork, gave us our new NVC case number and then informed us that everything had been processed and forwarded onto London on the 11th MARCH!!!!!!!

Certainly worth a go, as you never know you may end up being pleasantly surprised (well over the moon really) like we were! Good luck!

thanks guys!

Yankee love: indeed, it is a long time. I read on another thread that it takes 15 business days?? I don't know why these guys can't process anything without causing heart failures.

Marsar: Thanks for your post. I will copy/paste this thread to my fiance so he can do what you did :)

Hmm...so he just called and spoke to an operator. He's been told that they haven't received anything and we should call at the end of next week.

Sorry, forgot to mention that when we originally called NVC and spoke to an operator (before we'd heard about the automated line) on March 9th we got fobbed off and told to call back in TWO WEEKS time. They must have been trying to 'fob us off' as we found out later that our paperwork was there and being processed at the time. We called back 5 days later and was told it had been processed and sent to London on the 11th whilst the automated line told us they hadn't received it.

I'd leave it no longer than a couple of days (you've waited long enough in Vermont) and then call back again. Sometimes its the luck of the draw as to how helpful the operator you end up with is! Hope you get the good news you've been hoping for!

oh how i will miss using the term 'being fobbed off' :crying: lol..yes I am pretty sure he's been fobbed off to be honest. I think they are trained to do that. Honestly, I didn't have these kind of problems with UKBA. From VSC to NVC, we just seem to be running around like headless chickens and almost having to force them to do their job. Today, we got a reply to a service request we'd put in a day before the visa was approved, to tell us the visa has now been approved. What a bunch of numpties!

Good luck by the way, hopefully we'll be united with our partners without the need for a therapist at the end of this saga.

They probably saw your file just sitting there and forget to notify you. Probably finally sending off now to NVC. Sometimes that happens.

Oh my! And here I thought I was the only one! I got approved on March 6 and when we called the Dept. of State on Friday(March 18), they told us the petition is not in their database yet! How about that? Thinking of calling again next week as this is getting frustrating! I even started a new topic and didn't see this one. Hihihi. I hope everyone gets their petition forwarded fast! We've done enough waiting at VSC! :)
