fee for EAD

Hello everyone,

i just read this in the USCIS website:

if you filed formt I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of july 30, 2007, no fee is required to also file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date..

question: does that mean I do not have to pay the I-765 to apply for EAD???? I'm a little confused

correct, when filed concurrently with the i485 there is no fee for the i765

I just send my file but I send a check for the I-765 but because I send it with my I-485,I should not pay for the I-765..

does anyone know how I can get the check back or is it possible USCIS will send that check back?

They will probably reject part or all of the package for wrong fee. Best case is they reject the I-765 and then you reapply for the free one when you have NOA1 for the I-485. Good luck.
