There is information on the embassy website, I am not sure which consulate you would go through, but I chose Tokyo as an example:

http://japan.usembassy.gov/e/visa/tvisa-niv-k.html

Specifically:

The approved petition I-129F is valid for four months. In order to qualify for a K visa, you must apply for your visa before the end of this four months period. If you need more than four months to finalize your visa application, your petition must be extended for an additional four months. (The validity of the petition is noted in the Notice of Approval I-797 sent by USCIS to the US citizen petitioner or to the attorney assigned.)

In case you need to extend your petition, please ask your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) to send a signed and dated letter, address to the “U.S. Consul" of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo or U.S. Consulate in Naha by fax (Tokyo: 03-3224-5929 Naha: 098-876-4243) which reaffirms that the U.S. citizen petitioner and the visa applicant remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the applicant’s admission into the U.S. A reason for the extension must also be included in the letter. As soon as we received this letter, we will review your petition for a possible extension.

We got ANOTHER phone call today, still from Dallas, asking me to provide another set of photos, a new intent to marry and another T-325A. Has anyone ever heard of having to redo and resend everything like this? I'm wondering if there's a problem. I'm hoping it's only the dates on them being too long ago, as we had sent originally in January, and resent again in March, maybe they want newer pictures? Stuart spent a few hours on the phone with them today over it, mostly on hold, but still... I just want everything to go smoothly, now I'm scrambling to redo the whole package and have Stuart send it out to them again....

No I never heard of anything like this! Makes one wonder if they screwed up/damaged your paperwork or something. Some of the forms can expire, but you can only tell by comparing the expiry dates on them with whats on the USCIS forms page.

Sorry to hear the process is starting out so ugly for you two, before you even get to the starting gate.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

I don't think the dates on the forms are too long ago if you signed them in january, we signed our papers in january too, but they re-mailed the whole package because we did put the wrong fee on the check (430 instead of 340), so we mailed the same papers again with a new check in march and no problems. Seems the best would be to send a whole new package - I'm so sorry for you that it doesn't go smoothly. Best wishes and keep us updated! :star:

we didnt get any noa1 yet...they cashed the ckeck and he said they also stamped it. he called 3 times they said they cant do anything about it, only if they didnt get noa1 in 30 days. he mailed it in 17th march thats already been too long....

hi...your not alone..were in the same situation....we didnt received our NOA1 hardcopy, my fiancee called them 1week ago and they said they mailed NOA1 hardcopy dated March 8 but we didnt received any...and USCIS said they cant send another onesad.gifbut were not worried about that coz i guess NOA1 is not really important...

we waited for 7-10 business days to call USCIS for the NOA1 hardcopy to received and fiancee called and then they asked us to wait for 30 more days..and after 30days if nothing happen call them so we did.... my fiancee talked to a nice information agent and he transfered the call to an Immigration Officer so we will know whats happening on our petition.... and few of our questions answeredsmile.gif.

goodluck to all of usbiggrin.gif

Wooooooooop! Got our NOA2 notification via email today! Now, on to the next step!

noa1 handcopy is not important? arent both of them important? i dont really have info about it. when Sam called, they as well told him to wait for 30 days and if nothing happens call again. he filled up the email on the form and checked the stamp but there's not tracking number on it.

It's not really important, it's just useful to check if the data is correctly in the system. I red that sometimes they made typo's on names for example, and it's important to correct this. In our case they made a typo on our zip code, so the hardcopy of the NOA1 was re-mailed to them, and then they mailed it again and this time we got it. We called them to correct the typo. It doesn't happen often but sometimes it happens.
