There has to be some benefit to being in the military.

Not for US immigration purposes. Commendable, but not an advantage.

What will help your case:

A solid relationship, meeting the listed requirements.

Proper evidence and a complete petition.

Your Fiance having financial means.

Tons of men get women here I have never heard of a woman marrying a foreign national. So anyway, if anybody knows anything please let me know.

Many American women petition for foreign Fiance's. You are not alone in this.

Good luck!!

One benefit of being active duty military is that your income requirements are less. For the I-864, you only have to meet the poverty guidelines for your household size, while nonmilitary have to meet 125% of the guideline.

Hi I'm active duty AF, not a woman but I do see quite a few on VJ so you're not alone in that aspect. I haven't really heard much about benefits to being military other than the I-864 guidelines dropped from 125% to 100%. I've also heard that there MAY be something if you're about to be deployed...possibly something about expedited processing. But I wouldnt' take advantage of that possibility, if you know what I mean. Hope this helps a little

Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary?

From one of your posts yesterday, it appeared you were the beneficiary.

I am the petitioner and I am a female on Active Duty. This is what I meant by this, I know there are tons of woman who try to get men here. I meant as far as I have seen I have never seen a military female petition for some one and if there is one I would like to know about the expreience.

William,

Private has put some information in her profile. I often look there when posts seem ambiguous, and sometimes I actually find the information I need to understand the situation a bit better.

The only military female petitioner I can think of on VJ was in a marriage that just ended... so I don't think they post here anymore. Also it was the beneficiary who posted. But rest assured, there are many women who petition for men in North Africa.

Private,

There are a fair number of people in the military here on VJ - stay alert and you'll find them.

In addition to the financial benefit of being in the military that John mentioned, there are a few other benefits at various phases of the immigration process. Getting expedited petition and visa application processing are not among them, but I believe that there can be situations associated with adjustment of status and naturalization where being in the military has benefits - or at least there are special provisions to avoid the hardship that overseas deployment would otherwise create. Perhaps there are legal staff at your base who can advise you, or consult with a civilian immigration attorney.

There are also a lot of USC women who have or will marry foreign men on VJ. In fact there are a fair number of USC women involved with Moroccan men. I suggest you look for them (click on the 'Morocco' link in your information block to the left of your posts) because more than a few of their Moroccan men have run into problems with their visa applications. Enough so that I recommend you have a consultation with a US immigration attorney who has handled marriage-based visa applications in Morocco and who understands the ways of that consulate.
