$3.40 to $3.50 in Central Florida from around $3.00 only 2 weeks ago.

I also noticed that gas stations around here have upped the "temporary hold" to $100 when you pay at the pump. Not a big deal on a CC with lots of room on it, but watch out if you're using a debit card to buy only a few gallons. The entire $100 is off limits for a day or two even if you only bought $20.

5 gal. container on the PATH train tomorrow

When I go to the Poconos (Tri-State {NY NJ PA}) area, on my way back from PA

I sneak into Jersey to gas up cheaply. There's no toll bridge on my route there.

In my case when it was used as a debit there wasn't an NSF (insufficient funds) fee

(which can be a big GOTCHA in cases where the account isn't protected by overdraft),

but interest charged when the debit was charged to my checking account having a

zero balance, which then kicked in the overdraft protection which charged interest.
