Hello, I have been working so hard on my husband's visa. He is German, we are residing there and I am close to the interview stage.

I just have a few questions about the I-864 form. I would truly appreciate any help.

So,

1. Do I use my case number for an A-number? I assume no,but just checking.

2. I am filing this form in April. So, 2010 would count as the most recent tax year?

3. I did not file taxes for 2010 because I did not make enough, plus I have been in Germany over one year. Do I need to write an explanation of this?

4. We will use a joint sponsor, my husband's aunt. Even though she does not live in the state we are moving to, she can still be the joint sponsor? Will she need to produce more than just the completed form, proof of citizenship, tax return and W-2s, etc. I guess that would depend on the case, but that's the basics?

5. If you are familiar with the form, I have a question about part 4. Do I put my permanent U.S. address or my address in Germany?

thanks so much!

1. A stands for Alien number- as a natural born US citizen you won't have one.

2. Yes, if interview is after the tax filing deadline.

3. Yes, a short paragraph of explanation, signed and dated. Remember that USCs must file taxes even on income earned abroad!

4. Tax filings for the last three years, evidence of USC/ LPR status, and a filled in I-864. Evidence of assets value if used only.

5. We put the US address.
