ya know, there's a lot of off-duty and on-duty cops on campus, not attached to the campus,

that are there for school,

and carry , not concealed.

The first time I ran into this, I was appalled, as they were there to be a student, ya?

Tell me, are soldiers allowed to bring their own weapons and ammo on to barracks for personal protection? You know, in case of a soldier running amok and catching them with their pants down as it were because the government owned ones are safely, sorry locked away for no good reason.
