That seems like a valid enough reason for expedite. As far as im aware, deployment of any sort can result in an expedite, however it is in the country so not 100% sure. However, its worth trying it!

You would be wasting your time. Expedites are granted for deployments outside the USA, not for temporary duty within the USA.

Sis, hate to bust a bubble, but being military, and trying to get it expedited due to deployment, it is not as easy as it would seem. They will require orders, and "training" is not a valid reason. They emphasize it being "deployment". The process of expedite is supposed to be reserved for those that will NOT be able to marry their fiance within the 90 days of entry into the US due to be out of country.

BUT, I do say this. It does not hurt to try. You can call and ask. The worst they can say is no, right? I am not trying to discourage anything, as I think we tried EVERYTHING (including now, my fiance is here on a B2 visa waiting on our interview).

Good luck and I hope that everything comes quickly and in your favor. We are headed to Phils in 3 weeks for interview.

Wes

all he can do is call the military helpline and see if the VSC will grant the expedite. Worst case scenerio they deny it, but you never know if he doesnt request. I'm sure if he needed to get a letter from his commander stating that he needs to focus on his job and training, he could do that. USCIS didnt ask for evidence of my deployment when I requested the expedite for my wife's case.

PM me if you need any info. Expediting wasnt near as involved as it seemed.

Yes I think you can!!

They expedited ours because of ranger school.. it was 3 months and within the US! Our reason was that he would be out of reach and unable to respond/receive mail or phone calls and emails..

BUT you need to send the training orders and have someone higher in command write the letter.. thats what we did

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png
