I was reading the Guides on top and noticed the instruction is different from what we are doing. My husband just got a packet of I-864. He is sending it back to NVC by tomorrow. That means I don't need another I-864 to turn in when I have an interview at the embassy, doesn't it?? Or do I need another one? I want to make sure on that.

Thank you in advance for your advice :)

No, you don't need another I-864 to turn it in to the Embassy. NVC will send your whole packet to the Embassy which will include the I-864 packet. However, you may want to have a copy of the I-864 that your husband sent to NVC for your own records, but again, the Embassy won't ask an I-864 from you.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

simple_male, I saw your timeline and have another question. Do I have to cancel the K3 process by mailing NBC??

Thank you.

Thank you.

You can let it ride just in case it is approved and something holds up the I-130 process at NVC......or you can write and cancel the I-129F petition and state that you are wishing to proceed with the CR-1 instead of the K-3. Whether or not they actually cancel such before it is forwarded to the NVC on route to the consulate is another thing. As you are well into the NVC process for the CR-1, if the I-129F is approved and forward to the consulate you can delay things with the packet 3 for the K-3 until the I-130 petition etc reaches the consulate, where it will over-ride the K-3. Even if a K-3 interview is already sceduled, the CR-1 takes precedence.
