I'm getting ready to request my tax transcripts for the previous three years in preparation for the Affidavit of Support; however, I'm just starting the I-130 process (NOA1 on Dec. 22). I'm basically scared because I didn't work in 2010 (I lived some of that time outside of the U.S. with my husband). I'm seeking out a co-sponsor, but I'm just wondering what will I have to do for 2010 taxes since I didn't have any income.

Our Love will get us through this. It grows stronger everyday.

Without an income in 2010 you will need a co-sponsor and you'll be fine. If you didnt file taxes in 2010 just include documentation explaining why.

Not why you didn't file but why you weren't required to file. Big difference.

Manila can be a bit picky on the sponsor relationship from time to time but if well qualified, it shouldn't be a problem.

Excellent information thanks! What kind of proof/evidence would I need to provide that I was not required to file? Would a certified letter stating that I did not work in 2010 and that I was outside of the country part of the time count. I could also provide copies of my passport stamps to show that I wasn't here. Any suggestions are appreciated.

No "proof" required. You simply state the reason you weren't required to file. It's because your income was below the threshold for needing to file. State both your income, (even $0 is an "income") and the filing threshold in your explanation.
