My SO had her interview today and she passed and is now hanging around manila till she gets her visa.

and she made a very BIG fuss over the Hotel Juliano, she basically said its a horrible place.

she was asked:

How long ago did we met

How many times he visited

what was the reason for the second trip (childs baptism)

requested to see pictures of baptism (only ones he looked at)

after that she said he chatted her up telling her about New York, im guessing he was originally from queens cause he knew my area rather well, places you would only know about if you were here for a bit, and she said once he saw the pics he was most friendly to her and that even the consol next to them took notice (2 in a room ) and the girl who was interviewing thanked her because her consol was paying attention to my SO's conversation and just gave her an approval without saying much.

So thats that, god has been very good to us and i hop it keeps up so she can get here so very soon.

Thanks for all the help you guys have given us along this LONNNNNG crazy trip :)

About a week maybe 2 i called the hotel Juliano to ask if there were vacancies for her stay, they told me yes, i said do i need to reserve a room, they took my info down and said thank you sir, i said fine.

before her flight i call and verify my stay, they say yes fine we have open rooms at the rate i wanted (low rate for 3 people, her and her parents ) when they get their she is told that they dont have that rate, someone says something rude to her father, mind you he is a good man and slow to boil, me... i am not.

I call the hotel and the woman on the phone is in fact very rude, to the point where she just says sorry no openings you were speaking to the woman on the day shift i am the night shift and we have no vacancies and i dont see a reservation for you the just gives the phone to my SO before i can speak.

its 11 30 at night and she hits us with a room that costs 1900 pesos. fine i say just stay there and i will find soemthing else after yor interview.

she callls me later and i can hear people arguing in the background and she tells me the sheets smell and they told her they would charge her for extra sheets, i told her to explain they are dirty and she shouldnt have to pay, think they worked it out cause she didnt call back withthat.

i call around to a few hotels and most are booked or hitting for some crazy rate cause its 3 of them. she says dont worry she will just deal with it as its not so bad and they will only be ther a few days (waiting for visa to print and pick up in manila)

thats why she said the Juliano stinks, very poor service and small rooms coupled with rude attendants.

who knows, maybe its just an off day.

If it were me i prolly wouldnt give a crud cause i can be a HUGE ####### to get my point accross, but she is no where close to being able to tell someone off, maybe one day :).

but if you are on a budget which is why i picked this place, the juliano is fine, i found another place called the Duck hotel i think, same price, but i cant comment on the service.

just google ermita hotels
