how do you do screen shots? I was also wondering did everyone print from when they met or just from the time they were married on for the interview?..

This is the K-1 forum; marriage is not before the interview, never.

the way I do it is select the chat window by clicking on it...then push Alt+Print Screen...then go to your word document and paste it there by right clicking on the document and selecting paste.

We didnt use screenshots, but this is a better idea than just pasting the chatlog into the word document. I dont think they even looked at our chat logs...they wanted to see pictures more at the interview. I also made a second trip to the PI, so we had more evidence of an ongoing relationship. All this was for our CR-1 visa.

oh we didn't think of doing the print screens.... thanks for the responses guys.. we appreciate it. i guess the same goes for email logs...

we have like 700 pages of chat logs in YM. sigh...

We had over a thousand pages of chat logs, printed 2-4 copies each month, brought 'em with me to the Embassy and they didn't even look at it. :o

Effort was wasted! :P

Thank you for all the answers and tips. I wish I posted this question before we started the petition and started the logs first coz all the forms are filled out and we are stuck with finishing the chat logs. I'm definitely going to do the print screens..

You can also do print screen by pressing Print Screen on your keyboard and open MSPaint or Word file and paste it there.

CO actually read some chat messages you include.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/287601-my-unforgettable-interview-experiences/

The consul saw on our chat logs about concerning my nephews who used to live or took their vacation with me. it says "I let my nephews taste vodka". which is im not that one did that but their mom. Thats was i defended and explained my side as their Aunt. sometimes you cannot undo what you;ve already type.

When I sent in our petition, I sent our Yahoo "chat logs" and a sample of about a half dozen of the actual conversations. I didn't edit anything from them. In our chats, my honey and I both call each other wife and husband and other pet names even thought we are not "married" yet. At first I was going to edit all the lines where we had used wife and husband. But, after thinking about it for a while I thought to myself ... " If these people are expecting a person to have a real relationship, then of course we are going to call each other husband and wife". After all, if you are engaged then the next step is to be married right? I know that most people get a bit scared thinking that the CO might get suspicious about their actual marital status. But seriously... if you have a good relationship together, of course you are going to call each other husband and wife and other pet names. And as far as the content of the chats, I didn't take anything out of them or cherry pick which chats I sent. I left all of our dirty talking and everything in them. I figured that the people that process the petition and the CO is going to be knee deep in our business any way, might as well give them something interesting to read !! However, it took me a little while to get my wife to go along with that way of thinking.

I guess you would not have to worry about such things if you don't have a tough consulate. The only reason our K-1 got denied was because the CO suspected we were already married. She admitted she was convinced we have a legitimate relationship, but she believed we were already married, so we should have filed a spousal instead of a K-1.

we printed out about 15 emails or so at different stages of our relationship, and the issue we had was swearing! we cuss like sailors when it's only us around. not wanting to annoy someone with a more refined vocabulary [just in case!] i chose the ones with lesser swearing, but they still had the odd word, i dabbed the all but the first letter of the words out with a black marker pen, made an art of it! and fingers crossed we haven't been called up on it!
