i think if you already have a case number from NVC then your case has probably already been sent to the embassy you listed on the I-129F form. the first few letters of the case number from NVC are specific to each embassy and designate which embassy your case will be processed at.

Embassy case numbers are generally embassy specific.

you should contact the NVC as soon as possible to request the change before it leaves for the consulate of australia because if it does the wait will be longer, try to make this change while the paper work is still at the NVC.

Hello everybody,

I have a question related to the NVC. On july 31st my fiancé and I got our NOA2, few days after we got the hard copy.

Its been 3 weeks almost since then and we are waiting for a notification from the NVC telling us they are sending our case to the american embassy in spain. My fiancé has been trying to call the NVC almost every day and is like impossible to talk with anyone….can somebody tell me how long it takes to get the notification from the NVC and if anyone has finally contacted the NVC easily lately? thank you…it all seemed to be faster after the noa 2 but we've been almost three weeks without news and at least before we had the case online to check…now is like an empty space here.

I've spoken to them twice, the first time they said that it takes them 5 weeks to receive it and 2 days ago they said 25 days. I don't know if they actually mean to process it because we all know it doesn't take that amount of time to receive it via some type of mailing system that they use. I couldn't get through today after being on hold for 45 minutes. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

I was approved on 31st of july. Nvc received case august 14th sent to london by the 18th. So its possible your case number has been assigned.

To the op if it has been sent to australlia already it is possible to get it transfered to london but it can take a couple months for this process. You need to contact the embassy and request a transfer.

Yes the case number will change.

You do realize that the original post was made over 3 years ago, and the OP hasn't posted in almost 11 months?
