Yes u can buy a one way ticket online. I went home to the Philippines in 2008 in a 1 way ticket since i stayed for almost 6 months there. Yes. ur sister's fiancee can purchase the ticket. I forgot where i bought the ticket coz all my tickets were purchased online from a different website.

she was chatting with him today and tried to look at the website where he used to buy his tiks everytime he visits her and he said it doesnt allow him to generate from manila to US.

kayak.com is a great website for deals anywhere around the world.

Try looking for return tickets too because most of the time they tend to be cheaper than buying one way! When you get to the States just call to cancel the return trip, depending on the airline/website you purchase you may be able to use part of the cost as credit as I had done a while ago.

Also, if you find a good cheap deal on any website like kayak / travelocity / expedia / etc - cross check the actual airlines websites as they sometimes offer them cheaper if you buy directly from them.

Hope this helps.
