Hi There:

A few questions with regard to our DS-230... we have typed this and printed it; however, is it possible to handwrite in where certain things do not fit? (e.g. address is longer than the blank allows) Or is it really better to just attached a continuation page?

And finally - whilst my fiance's father is listed on his birth certificate, he's never met him and knows nothing about him. For his father's date of birth, is it simply all right to write UNKNOWN?

For the first question you have to do it one way or the other, you cant add handwritten if you type on the computer, i just hand wrote mine.

Yaa..u can surely Hand write the form and fill it....but dont fill it half computer printed and half hand written....

it is better to either Handwrite it fully or fill it thru computer

well....regarding ur fiance's father..i would recommend u to talk with NVC representatve first and then fill the form....coz atleast u have to mention one's dad's DOB even if u have not met him....

Hmm.. okay.. we'll see what we can do but we literally have no idea where his dad is, and his mum has pretty much wiped out every memory of him.... his dad left when he was like 2 days old...

Yes, it's okay to handwrite a few things in. There's a question on the DS-230 in reference to parents' addresses and there's not enough room to fill it in on the computer.

I also think it's fine if you write UNKNOWN. A lot of people don't know or don't remember birthdates of parents, especially those that were never important in their lives. The NVC is not looking at you or your finance's parents information. They're more concerned about you and your fiance.
