Hi since being here I have lived with a borrowed phone now I am about to buy one for myself.

any ideas on who is the best and what are the options, I live in Michigan and will be a low user for the moment then hopefully when I am up and running with my Painting and decorating business I will hopefully

be a more frequent user.

Regards Scotty

Coverage wise you cannot beat VERIZON. Most of the other offer decent coverage and good value for money..

I personally use Sprint..

The guys sell most of the carriers phones and are cheap in terms of handset costs.. Customer service is a little crappy..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I'm happy with Cingular, mainly because they're coverage is excellent and they use GSM phones unlike Verizon, which work when I'm in the UK (and Italy and Brazil, etc...).

I had Verizon for years, but dumped them because of their shitty attitude towards their customers, for example crippling their phones bluetooth ability.

I have T-Mobile. I use it sparingly so obviously I don't encounter the dropped-calls quite as much as people who use the phone more often do.

I used to have Sprint. Back then I used my cell phone a heckuva lot more and at one point I lost signal at home completely... which is when I switched to T-Mobile.

Also from Michigan, sort of in the boondocks, and have had pretty good luck with Alltel for the last 2 years. Wherever I go it usually works. Sprint is no good around here.

If you don't live in Jacksonville, NC that is. They left this spot uncovered on the map. We have CINGULAR (just because it's about the only provider that covers about all of those Military Bases here) and it's alright, I can't complain about dropped calls etc. and unused free minutes will be transferred to the next month's account.

Don't go with T-Mobile. The coverage is shitty, and dropped calls are rather more common than they'd like you to believe.

I have the same trouble with them. Their customer service is absolutely wonderful, and if you call them and explain they can actually tweak your reception and check towers, but it doesn't make up for losing all the calls I lose. And I don't use it that often. I'm searching for a better provider too, but I kind of shot myself in the foot. I live on the wee edge of town near a lake so not many towers. Solitude has its price I guess.

In Michigan, the two carriers with the best networks are Cingular and Verizon. We use Cingular mainly because they rollover unused minutes...
