Entering in IR-1 after deportation ten years ago

My husband recently recieved his IR-1 and we will be flying up to the U.S. in March for the first time. He was deported from Houston ten years ago and was treated very badly in immigration there. We would like to fly up using Continental Airlines for convenience sake, but the POE is Houston. Does anyone think this will be a problem or should we just avoid Houston altogether? Will this apply for future trips as well? Also, I would like to know if we will be separated in immigration when they take his packet, or will we be able to stay together? For future trips, after the initial POE, will he go through the visitors line until he receives his citizenship or will he go through the us citizen line with me? Thank you for any help.

Was approved for an Immigrant visa, any bar would have prevented visa approval without a waiver. So nope should have no issue at the POE.

maybe because he was being deported they treated him badly. When my parents were tourist to the USA they used continental to houston from montego bay, jamaica and had no problems they 4-6 times they connected through there. Well if seating is limited in the waiting room you will me asked to leave .. usually you wont enter anyway because they ask the applicant information about the spouse. They allowed him back in the country via an approved case/visa so he will be fine even if he was deported months/years back.

If you are traveling together on future flights when entering the USA again, you go in the same line together because you are traveling together.

Use any line you feel... Which ever is shortest. Visitor/US Residents/US Citizens....
