Okies, here's just a few from the 650 of our vacation pics from OINC. :whistle:

I made them only 450 X 600 size so they load quicker. :thumbs:

My Citation Pompano...citation, by the way, is not a breed of fish hehe it means record size. I know the Pompano I caught seems small at just 2lbs. 8 oz. but that's pretty huge for that breed and they aren't easy to come by.

I will be receiving a certificate for it from the North Carolina Fisheries. Am I bragging? You bet! :lol:

Hubby and I laugh at this pic from the tackle shop's web-site. They way they captioned it makes it look like it's saying my hubby was the bait/shrimp hehe

You can just make out 2 of my step-kids and my daughter in the ocean. They weren't deep, just kneeling in the water cause it was SHARK time....lol.

That beach looks nice. Where are all the other people, though?

:lol::lol::lol:

I took the following photo because I just knew that someone was going to say that....lol.

Ocracoke Island is one of the furthest islands in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, only accessible by boat, ferry or small plane, so a lot of people don't bother making the trip. Not to mention, where hubby and I go on the beach is only accessible by 4WD too (you can drive on the beach there) and we drive out to South Point which is a good 7 mile drive from the entry ramp onto the beach itself. There are no buildings, no businesses, nothing at all except sand, water and birds...just as nature intended it. Completely untouched and absolutely beautiful. There are other people of course, but not a lot, and we really like it that way (Maybe I should keep my mouth shut about how awesome it is, eh? :unsure: ).

Another trivia fact about Ocracoke - The sand on Ocarcoke Island "squeaks" when you walk or drive in it because of the high silicon content. :yes:

Silicon is basically purified beach sand. There are very few beaches in the world that have this.

That's silicon not silicone.

Here's some info...lol...

Silicon 101
