I am preparing my petition and had a question about how I would prove my intent to marry my Finance once he arrives in the states? I have read on other threads that it is not a good idea to book a place b/c you do not know when the visa will be approved, however, I am planning to get married on the island I work on (small island in Maine) and my work has been wonderful, allowing me to book knowing it might change. Would a statement from them work?

What typically serves as "intent to marry"?

You and your SO write a short letter saying you are willing, able and intend to marry within the 90days after arrival on the k-1. Thats all. If you check the Example section you can find an example of letter of intent.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Attach a letter of intent, EX: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Fiance_Letter_of_Intent.doc

Just by filing an I-129F for a fiancee visa is intent.

As said, filing the letter of intent and the I-129f is great proof of intent to marry, but get that statement from your work anyway... IMHO it would be very handy as proof of relationship once your interview at the consulate comes around after NOA2

Just my 2 cents worth :)

Nada to the above. 99.9% of the folks on VJ just use the sample Letter of Intent found in the Guides and Example Forms. No need to invent a new wheel; we already got one that works like a champ.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
