Hello everyone,

As we mention in our first post, We filed I751 more than 3 years ago and We are still waiting for something to happend. Now we are preparing to file for citizenship as adviced by one of the members here; however, we are not sure what to put in Part 10 - D. Good moral character. The problem is that I have been cited for littering, paid a small fine, no arrest has been made, and no jail time. The question is: how can We answer questions 15- 16- 17- 18?

Is this littering citation going to be a problem?

Any help will be appreciated

do not lie, put answer to YES , an if it was under 500.00 fine your ok but if you have charges you need the paper work for the charges, attach a letter as to what was the fine or charges,if no charges then write no charges were filed, you will be ok , many people get speeding tickets and pay fines ,don'tlie be honest, thay have ways of fineing things out.

a littering citation is NOT a criminal act! I think it's similar to getting a parking citation - you did something against park rules, for example. If I were you, I'd answer NO.

good i was looking at the form n-400 ti think if your fine was under 500.00 and you paid the fine then mybe you are ok put no there were no charges filed, good luck on that

jkelly,

When I went to court, the judge said that this might affect my immigration status. They also have a big board stating that if you commit a crime or something like that, it might affect your immigration status. This made me a little scared, especially that my i 751 is still pending for over 3 years now. This may give INS a excuse to forget or denie my i 751. I am just impatient. I never heard that someone has waited this long for i 751 to be processed.

Come on now. You are not going to be denied on some littering ticket. There are a lot of people who got approved with speeding tickets in the past. Speeding is more dangerous than littering IMO so if they overlook that, I don't see why they'll make a big deal over littering. Don't lose sleep over this. Good luck and keep us posted.

You need to answer YES unless lying on one of the most important documents of your lifetime doesn't bother you. It will be marked, you may get 1 question about it in passing, but it will have NO impact on your N-400 petition.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
