Our countries have two very different political systems.

Got 20 out of 20 - but I used to help Constituents prepare for the old Citizenship test and so had the answers available to all of the questions printed out. We only gave out the answers to the Part 2 of the former Exam, though, which was asking about local levels of government, resources and geography - answers that were not contained in the study booklet they handed out. I figured if they were resourceful enough to think of asking their MP's office for information, they could get the answers. They still had to study them, though, and remember them for the test.

I will add that even the former Canadian citizenship test was more difficult than the US citizenship test which only requires the correct answer to 6 questions out of 10.

Well, I got 17/20.

Sure glad I got the question about "Inuit" means...would have been pretty bad if after 4 years in Nunavut, I didn't even learn what that word meant! :wacko:

I feel the urge now to watch Rick Mercer's Talking to Americans.

I'm inclined to agree. The Harper "Conservatives" are basically US mainstream Democrats.

If you look at the Utah map for congressional districts, Salt Lake City is joined, by a thin strip, with almost the entirety of south eastern rural Utah, in a pathetic and desperate attempt by the Republican-dominated state government to gerrymander the congressional district boundaries to prevent the comparatively liberal SLC electorate from reelecting a particular Democrat representative - Jim Matheson. I'm Republican by inclination, but once I get my citizenship, anybody who's ever approved of this affront to basic democracy has permanently lost my vote. I'm glad Matheson won this last election [by a healthy margin, mind you], and keeps winning, no matter how ridiculous the District boundaries grow. Serves the corrupt b*st*rds in the re-districting committee right! But I digress.

Anyways, this representative, Jim Matheson [a single isolated splotch of blue in a vast, vast sea of red], while officially a Democrat, is more right wing than a lot of the Republican representatives from more liberal states (Massachusetts and California come to mind) and is FAR more right wing than anybody in the Harper caucus.

Dunkin' Donuts does make a relatively decent cup of coffee - more like Timmies than anything else I have found and it is a reasonable price. The medium equals a Canadian large. So, if you can find one of those around it should help. I personally LOVE their French Vanilla coffee :yes: .

I always laugh at those posts and sort of feel sad for those people! Why would someone take time out of their day to post something like that?? Ya, thats pretty sad!!

Because they're the extreme redneck conservative that have very limited education and have no clue what goes on anywhere else in the world let alone outside of their own rural county they live in.

Anyways I got 14. I'm amazed I got that high. Though I think I guess on a few and got them right...
