Drivers License CR-2 Visa

Hello:

My wife and son approved chicago point of entry 11-19-2010.

My wife has a Chinese Drivers license. What is required to get an Ohio License?

I called Columbus, they said depends what the I94 states. Or is this part of her passport? I thought the I 94 was for non immigrants!

Also, What is the next step to get my wife's permanent green card and social security number?

IR / CR -1 get the green card in the mail. Same for SSN. If the ssn doesnt show up you need to go down to the office with her and apply for it.

Bring her passport and greencard proof of residence and her other driver license down to the DMV tell them you want to change her other license to a state license.

Does Ohio DMV allow this?

I know NJ does this without road test, but they need a written and eye test.

Im not sure if its the same for all country but my cousin changed her canada license in OHIO without road test and without writen.

But again thats a canada license. They might have her do a writen test because of difference in country road rules?

I recently got my Illinois license, please note every state has different requirements. However, I showed them my Nicaraguan license, and I still had to take the written and road test. Good luck!
