Huong got a blue slip. All relationship evidence was good. We used IOM to organize everything for the interview and prepare her, and now we know that wa a mistake. The information I sent to huong regarding my ex-wife was not included with the papers she took to the interview. So the blue slip was requesting this information. She returned to the consulate with the information later in the afternoon, and they gave her another blue slip stating that they have received the required information. They will contact her with the decision.

I will give more detail shortly.

Thanks everyone for all your support

Mike, you can read about administrative reviews here: http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/Secu...tiveReview.html

Also, I'm so sorry that you were put on AR! I was sure you'd be the first recalled case with a visa in hand...

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

You are right. I wasn't familiar with AR at the time when I wrote that, but now I know we are not in AR. I really hope that they get this cleared up quickly. I got divorced 10 years ago. I don't understand why they would worry about it, since it was so long ago. I even gave them her new marriage certificate, when she got married 9 years ago. She is still married to the same man, and they both are willing to give me anything I need from them. What is one to do if their exwife hates them and would never help them? Well, the waiting has begun again.

Thanks everyone!!!

After Yen got the blue slip in January of 2005, they requested an additional tax document from me, wich I immedeatly sent to them. I ended up going to Vietnam for a second time in late Feb/early march 2005 and while I was there, took more pictues, flew to Phu Quoc with Yen etc etc and made a visit to the consulate in HCMC and gave them the pictures, plane ticket stubs from trip to Phu Quoc. Yen was approved 2 weeks later in mid march. I tend to think this only helped them make up their mind in our favor. I don't know if you are able to take a trip over there now or soon, but it couldn't hurt.

GARY va YEN

***USA*** AND VIETNAM

Link to our webpage: Click HERE

A short timeline:

October 2003, Introduced to YEN by her cousin whom I work with. We like each other etc etc etc..and so on

February 3, 2004, I go to Vietnam to meet her. Things go well so on

February 9, 2004, we get engaged and have the big ceremony and then on

February 14, 2004, I get back on the plane and come home. By about the middle of May I have everything ready to send in to USCIS for the I-29 and on

May 18, 2004 the Nebraska service center recieves the petition. And on

August 28, 2004 I recieve approval notice from NSC. On

October 18, 2004, Yen recieves Packet 3, fills it out, turns it in and on

December 13, 2004 Yen recieves Packet 4, she takes care of it, does the medical etc etc and the interview is scheduled for

January 4, 2005. Yen arrives for her interview and FAILS! So I call and find out what went wrong and they require additional evidence including a 5 minute video of me speaking vietnamese, a tax document that was already in the file, and some letters from me about how and when we met, when and where the engagement was, things we have in common and how our relationship progressed. So on

February 25, 2005 I go back to Vietnam to visit my em oi and on

March 2, 2005 she and I go to the consulate to give them the Video etc. They tell us to expect to wait another 2-6 months. I decide on

March 10, 2005 to give the consulate copies of my airplane tickets, visa and ticket stubs for Yen and I's trip to Phu Quoc. Unexpectedly on

March 23, I get an email from the consulate telling me that our case is APPROVED! So on or about

April 25, 2005 Yen arrives in Kansas City, MO, USA!

Now going through the rest of the process here.

LIFE IS GOOD!

It seems like your case is in the cycle of re-review. If they have not stated any other concerns on your blue slip and you have submitted the items they requested, then it is likely that your file is back in the stack for whenever they get around to it. Two weeks, four weeks, two months, who knows?:whistle: If you don't get the pink slip right at the interview, they tend to put things on the back burner for a while. You're used to rough treatment by now, so sticking it out for what is hopefully a short time should not be so difficult for you. Welcome to the HCMC club dissapointment. :crying: Hang in there, Mike!

Hi Mike & Huong,

Sorry to hear this news after all your case has been through thus far, but I hope that Huong's quick reaction to the blue slip and getting the documents returned that same afternoon will help your case.

Looking on the bright side, by getting the documents back the same day as the interview, perhaps you've kept your case "fresh" inside the Consulate and it is now ready for a quick review!

I agree in your question regarding those with ex-spouses that are not cooperative. What happens in those cases? I can imagine that a lot of people might not want themeselves dragged into their ex-spouses new relationship.

Wishing you more strength, confidence and patience!

Here are the details of our nightmare. Huong arrived flew to HCMC 10 days before her interview date so she could get her medical done and ready for the interview. She went to IOM for her medical and while there she spoke to a girl that hired them to help her get organized for the interview. Huong thought this would be a good idea, so she she used IOM services. Well in the process of them going thru all our papers they thought they should get rid of all of my divorce papers. Well my wonderful fiancee grabbed them, just to keep just in case they are needed. She really didn't know what they were, and that is my fault. Well when she got to the consulate the lady at the window was going thru her papers to make sure eeverything was there, and asked where my divorce papers are. Huong was suprised and said, they should be there IOM organized them for me. No Chance. She was told to sit down and wait for her interview. It was her turn for the interview, and these are the questions they asked her:

Her Name

My Name

What she does for work

Complimented her on her English

When did we meet physically for the first time

How many times did I visit her

How long was each visit

When did we get engaged

Then he asked to see our pictures of the engagement, and then the other pics. Then he asked about phone records. She showed him my cell bill which shows an 1-800 # every time I call her, and he asked is this her number. She explained, no it is to show this is Mike's Cell number and he calls this number when he calles to me. Then she showed him the phone card print outs which shows both numbers, he said ok. He said everything seems good, but we need your fiance's Divorce Papers. So he handed her a blue slip which was requesting the documents that IOM took out of her packet. Luckily she had them at the hotel. She then went to the hotel and gathered the needed papers, and took them to the consulate the same afternoon. When she came inside the consulate, guess who was standing there? The interpretor that was on standby for her interview. He was very ignorant to her. She said I have the papers the consulate wants, IOM made a mistake. He looked at a letter and affidavit from my ex wife and her lawyer dated this past April. He asked her how is your fiancee do these papers in April and he know interview will be in August??? He gave her the ignorant flick of his hand, meaning to get out of his face and sit down. After 2 hour wait they gave her a GREEN SLIP. It states that no more evidence is required at this time, and the will notify us after they have finished.

Now we wait and wait and wait!!!

Also like Chuck stated in another post, it was not a good day in HCMC. A lot of Blue Slips.

Hi Mike,

I am so sorry about your delay. I can only hope, wish, and pray that it will be short. I feel for your frustration after you both had gone through so much to get here. Please have strength, patience, and faith that it will all work out soon. I am praying for you both.
