Hi all,

I went for my finger printing today at my local police station and they used a computerized system saying that they dont use the old-school black ink method anymore. Does anyone know if this is going to be a problem when I send this in with the NVC? Because some other guy was there at the police station going through the same immigrant process for Canada and he said they only accept ink prints over there. The Constable pretty much said to us.. 'too bad'!!!

If this is what Australia has accepted as their norm then the worst that may happen is you may have to have b&w prints taken at the embassy. Most police jurisdictions in the US now only use computerized fingerprinting.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

100% no problem. The "paper prints" are typically digitised these days anyway because otherwise how do you check the prints against a centralised database?

No problem, its just the way it's done. SOME stations still do ink because they don't have the expensive machine, but I had mine digital and it was never questioned. The prints aren't checked by USCIS anyway, it's an Australian system to check your criminal history in Australia, then a piece of paper will be sent to you (or the consulate, whoever you wrote down to get it) and it basically says "no records" if you're clean. Almost seemed like a waste of $131 when I got mine :S

What Vanessa said I paid $185 and for what lol that is ####### about ink prints I had mine done last Dec and it is all digital now so don't panic. I had mine sent back to me and included it in with my packet 3. It's a big piece of paper and mine was boring and said no criminal history lol And as Vanessa said it does not go to USCIS it is just to check you in OZ so worry not my friend all is ok.

Oh I think you made a boo boo too you have consulate as Armenia on your time line mmmmmm
