Hi everyone! I am new to the forum. i am now living in egypt with my husband planning to file direct consular filing for us and had question about residency requirement.

here is the situation

i arrived here june 9, 2010

we married july 6,2010

he just recently got me legal residency

I was wondering if the 6 month requirement to reside here is 6 months from day i arrived, 6 months from day we married or 6 months from becoming legal?

Thanks so much Anh map. Am i reading this correctly. If i take in my proof of residency(recent) and my visa which was stamped at entering with no exit stamp is that sufficient proof?

Your arrival date in Egypt.

Hi again Er neal. I was just reading your post to another vjer awhile back and i too was wondering what an FRRO is?

I have been living here 6 months but i am looking for other ways to prove that because as yet my husband has failed to get my residency visa. He has went in twice and they keep asking him for more information. it's rediculous they asked him last time to "prove" he is an egyptian citizen, lol as if his birth certificate was not enough we had to take the 2 hour journey home to get birth certificate from his father.

(i think if you want something done right in egypt you have to pay extra) just my 2 cents :P
