And so it begins...

I sent our packet off on Friday (Oct. 29). I think assembling that packet is the most intimidating process ever. I don't recall ever being so nervous and afraid of doing something wrong. And now the waiting begins.

I did have one humorous moment. As I'm filling out the I-129f, I was referring back to the example on here. And when I finished, I printed out the example instead of my actual form. I didn't even notice until at the end when I was making sure I had signatures on everything. At least that's one potential mistake caught ahead of time.

By the way, I want to thank everyone who has ever posted on here; either asking questions or giving answers. The information I found on here is the only way I was confident enough to do this without paying money for a lawyer. You've already been such an enormous help. Thanks to all.

I am glad you caught the mistake! Yes, very nerve wrecking, indeed. I checked my whole packet SEVERAL times and went over and over in my head on what I needed to submit and what I was including. At least it is now submitted and now you should be ready to stand a long period of waiting. Remember to continue to gather evidence of your continued relationship (phone calls, chat logs, letters, e-mails, etc.)

Best wishes!

Good luck, B_J! My package was delivered today at noon. We had a brief moment of excitement and now are settling in for the long wait along with you!

I second your thoughts....It would've been a challenge to prepare the package without the knowledge on this site. When you follow the instructions given here, it actually comes out looking pretty professional.
