Wow!!! Congrats to all who have received a green card!!!!!! And to all who have received EAD card, interview and/or have seen your case move forward!!! I am so happy for yall!!

I have realized that I posted in the wrong thread since my hubby is not adjusting from a K-1 visa. It is AOS from marriage, but from a work visa which he has overstayed by more than 3 yrs.

Kinda funny how glued we get to these case updates. Before the technology was able to check the case online, we would just be sitting pretty waiting for something in the mail. Instead we get paranoid

We were sent separate letters for biometrics. First letter received was for AOS biometrics, and the second 1 or 2 weeks later was for the EAD. Yes having to do your biometrics again would be a delay

Sent my RFE yesterday. Just so anyone who gets RFE knows, my RFE was sent to a PO Box in Missouri and Fedex/UPS won't deliver to a PO Box; only USPS does and it takes two days even for Express Post.

Yes! Got en email EAD card prodcution ordered! great! hope for AP soon! how awesome! good day!

August 09 2007---- Enter U.S on F -1 ( graduate school)

February 16 2009 - August 2010---- on pre-completion OPT ( while writing my thesis)

August 2010--- graduated from grad school

August 2010-February 16 2011--- on post- completion OPT

My AOS timeline:

Nov 20 2010--- got married!! :) sent our AOS package to Chicago Lockbox.

Nov 22 2010--- package recived with my AOS (EAD, AP,I-130)

Dec 8 2010--- checks cashed for both AOS and I-130 and recived email and text notification ( 16 emails and 16 texts!wow!)

Dec 10 2010--- hard copy of NOA1 for AOS, I-131,I-130, I-765 recived via USPS

Dec 18 2010--- recived BIometrics appt. letter for Jan 7, 2011.

Dec 20 2010--- biometrics done, walk in

Feb 4 2011--- email notification that my EAD card has been ordered.sweet!

I made it. They didnt say anything about my AP, maybe they didnt even notice a mistake on it. I was nervous tho. I knew they were going to take me in a back room, just as they did when I came with my visa, because I saw another lady in front of me having the same papers. It took like 30 min to get my AP stamped, photo copied etc and that was it. I got both copies back...I said, shouldnt you keep one, but the IO said no. Fine with me.

K1 JOURNEY

Aaww welcome back SPELAD. Hope your trip home was fab.

I see there's been lots of movement this week with EAD'S, Green Cards and what not. Fingers crossed I get my EAD this week...have a possible job lined up but I need by EAD by the end of the week...we'll see.

How does USCIS decide who's going to get AOS approved with or without the interview?

They flip a coin... :) no one really knows. There are good strong cases that get interviewed, and there are barebones cases that don't get interviewed. Both high fraud countries and not.

I think they interview if you have a K-2 too, and maybe if they've RFEed you for anything. Who can tell.

We've not had snow, so my Local office has no excuse. I really need my EAD now, it's driving me crazy. A December filer has received hers recently... I really don't understand why there's a hold up between biometrics and EAD/AP issuance.
