I sent my docs to NVC Sept 2nd, and got in their system Sept 16th... since then my husband have been calling and nothing... they always says it take 6-8 weeks to review the documents!

But I am worry because i made a mistake, I sent my passport together with my docs, and now I have a HUG problem... I am an engineer in my country and my manager decide that he will send me to Italy, for a training... the big problem is I don't have my passport with me, but he knows I have a passport (I had travel many times in the past for the company) but I didn't say to him I am planning of moving away to stay with my husband...

I can't say anything to him or I will get fired, NVC is taking forever to review or to say something...

Does anybody know why it is taking so long??? is it that normal???

How can I get my passport back ever before they make a decision?!

Please help me!!!!

The only thing I could think of is to say that you lose it and that it may take a while to get a new one. Obviously, you may have thought of that.

You sent your ORIGINAL PASSPORT to NVC :o

I just can't believe it! God help you out to get the passport back. NVC needs the passport copy of the beneficiary only.

Write an email to NVC immediately to return your passport back.

Frame the subject: "ATTN: SUPERVISOR SUE - NVC Case# <enter it> PLEASE RETURN ORIGINAL PASSPORT"

Frame the email body with NVC Case#, CIS Case#, Petitioner Full name and Date of Birth, Beneficiary's full name and Date birth. Then include a detailed message to return the original passport back to your petitioner.

NVC email id is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

After sending this email, wait for their response. Also call them now before midnight or Monday early morning at 603-334-0700. It is difficult to get them, but redial many many times to get them.

You need to submit a photocopy of the beneficiary's passport biographic page to process your IV package.

Do you have any idea why is taking that long?

If you send an email to them as explained above, you will have an answer by Mon/Tue. Also, ask them what is the current status in this email.

I am not sure where you or your husband are, but if one of you are in the USA, call your congressman. This is a case where they might actually be able to help. They can cut through the red tape and get to someone at the USCIS that can maybe get your passport back.
