Hi All

I am wondering and asking this question to everyone who got their interviews within Aug, Sep, Oct, or Nov to update me with whatever they know.

My interview (AOS | Marriage based) is scheduled in November, and i saw in the letter this statement in the list of requirements:

> A completed Medical Examination form (I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelop(unless already submitted)

Now, please focus on the word "and" above.

Yes, that is the concern.

Well, the instructions on I-485 said that our medical done in our home country was good for one year, and we only need to fill in the vaccination supplement sheet in I-693 form.

So, i got that done and sent it off with the file earlier.

Now, this "and" in the letter is like a hard lump to swallow.

I heard that some girl In north Carolina was asked to return with a completed I-693.

I am wondering and asking this question to everyone who got their interviews within Aug, Sep, Oct, or Nov to update me with whatever they know.

Much, much thanks

Ruchika

When I first sent off my application for Adjustment of Status we booked an appointment with a Civil Surgeon in the area and she had experience with this before (Some don't and think you need another medical exam, obviously WE know we don't because like you said its good for a year) So i took a copy of I-693 form and the DS form (Cant remember its name, the vaccination one you get given) from the medical exam back home and she filled in the required sections, we both signed it and she sealed it in an envelope and gave me a copy. The sealed copy is what I sent in along with my application

Honestly you won't know whether it's needed until you go to your interview. Go to the interview and get and RFE and it's not a big deal, just get it done. Get it done before the interview and it might not be needed. Up to you.

A full medical is NOT just $80. Depending on the Civil Surgeon you choose and the "tests" they decide they need to run for you, it can be closer to $500!!

OP, We had the exact same verbiage in our interview letter. Those are forms that go out to people who are getting interviewed who are adjusting from all sorts of entries. In fact, the vast majority of them did NOT go through the K-1 process. They don't tailor the forms to make sense for your individual situation, they just throw everything on there. That's why the key word in that line is NOT in fact "and" it is "Unless previously submitted" You've already had those things previously submitted, so you don't have to bring them to the interview. In fact, the way it works for everyone else in the forum is that they get the RFE before the interview if things are insufficient, so save your money.

Also, I would like to say that I also say this coming from an experienced perspective where we did actually receive an RFE at the interview for something different - and it really honestly and truly is NO BIG DEAL (in hindsight, heh). Don't sweat this.

I wasn't talking about a full medical being $80, I was talking about getting the civil surgeon to complete the necessary vaccination parts of form I-693 costing me $80

I must not have read the OP properly if you submitted form I693 with the initial AOS application then I wouldn't worry about it, like the others said

*edit: I blame the way OP set it out :P
