My parents email and fb message my fiance from time to time. They met him this past year as well when we all traveled to Ghana(so we have all of those pictures!)

Do you think we should include proof of their emails for the intrview?

Thanks!

I would say photos with family is great to include showing not just you have a relationship with your fiancee but so does your family. But I have question of my own are there particular types of photos they are looking for, my husband loves to take pictures of us when he is kissing me or holding me and afraid they might think that some are just to intimate hugs and kisses......But we don't go to many places when I'm there but have lots of photos to chose from already just don't know how many and so forth...I been there with him 3 times already and we haven' t made it to interview stage yet..

Thanks

OUr photos are a little of everying however we are pretty quiet about PDA in public- there is only one picture of us kissing... we have lots of the self-portrait type ones....some with family, and then at different places.

Now here is another question- I started printing the messages from my mom's fb. Israel has called my parenst mom and dad since day one. Do you think i should include the stuff because it says mom?? My mom's wording is very clear that we are engaged such as

"What a surprise Marissa had for us with her engagement ring! She is very happy and we are as well. We only wished we could have met you prior to the engagement. We are so looking forward to our visit with you and your family come this summer. Please say hello to your family. Wish your father a very happy birthday from us on the 23rd. We enjoyed speaking to him a few weeks ago."

or

"How are you? Where do I start with my writing to you? Words can not describe what this trip meant to me....being able to meet you, speak to you in person, getting to know you, getting to know your country and especially your loving family."

ISrael responds with "Thank you Mom, i'm really fortunate to have Marissa"

or something like that-

In ghana culture its not unusal to call people mom/dad/aunt/unlcle- what do others think about this. Even his brothers who email my mom call her mom!

Im torn...

John "Pondoro" Taylor said "It is better to be caught slightly over-gunned than to be stomped to bits by an elephant"

Why not? What happens if it is not necessary? You take them back home with you. I went to our interview with one of those boxes that 500 sheets of paper comes in FULL of evidence. I dragged that box from Vermont to Ukraine. I dragged that box from Ukraine back to Vermont. They looked at FOUR photos and asked NO questions, then approved the visa. Dammit! B-)

For our interview we include letters between my fiance's family and me. We have so much evidence as photos, boarding passes, chat logs, that they did not took those letters  But as for evidence always more than less  Good luck.

i know that consulates evaluate the petitions based on the country of origin,so,i think you should talk to someone who has been through ghana consulate.

good luck!

A legitimate concern with some consulates among immature people that cannot stand to wait to call each other "husband" and "wife". One could argue in such cases that the visa is denied for lack of maturity, but I doubt it.

Marriage will not make your parents HIS parents, ever. Marriage WILL make you "husband and wife". Referring to your parents as "mom" or "Dad" can not be interpretted by any thinking person to mean anything more than a term of respect. He does not have to be married to refer to your parents respectfully.

I wouldn't worry about it and consider more evidence to be better. It is in no way necessary to include ALL letters between them. Better to include a few sample letters and an email log from both of them showing the emails going back and forth but not the text of the emails themselves.

Hello,

It seems to be always better to err on the side of caution. Take everything but the kitchen sink in terms of proof! I would not worry that your fiance calls your parents "mom" and "dad," if anything, it shows that he is feeling welcomed to your family.

I think it is funny that you do not have many pictures of PDA in public... So many of my pictures (I am preparing an album to take to the interview) are of us kissing, hugging, and generally being loving and showing it! I guess that's okay because different people from different cultures have different codes of conduct.

Best wishes!
