When we first looked at the N-400, didn't we already supply most of this information? Sure enough, opened the I-485, I-130, G-325A, and the I-751that took us a lot of time to gather all that information and copied and pasted most of it for the N-400 with minor updates. Basically lazy so we wouldn't have to retype all that stuff again.

Wife must have a built in tape recorder in her brain, and went through every detail of her interview on the drive home, killed over an hour. Started with the oath, then going line by line on the N-400, like the USCIS wasn't even aware of our AOS or I-751 with details of our divorces and marriage, plus her again showing the proof of our divorces and marriage certificate. So I do not believe they went back to learn we already went through all this stuff. My only comment was, how in the hell did her IO think she got her green card in the first place?

Why would it matter?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

I had asked myself the same question... this is the answer I got from my lawyer:

"Your immigration file is ongoing. If they see that you have multiple files, then the old files will be ordered and transferred to were the "active" file is.

For instance your applying for citizenship... they officer reviews your application and notes in his computer. He sees multiple files re previous applications. He will request those files from their storage facility so he can attach them to the active file."

Don't know if this is true or not... but I just thought I'd share it.

EVERYTHING is already in your A File - every single application for any immigration benefit ever sent to USCIS is in there. Envelope(s) in which the applications came included.
