Congrats on the EAD Card !!! :) ....pending on the US Postal system and from where they sent the card (have no clue) and how close to you it may take a few days for you to have it in your hands :)

Next step is that you will receive a notice for interview which is for your greencard and the petition your spouse filed for you. Not sure what the average time after EAD is, for me, I received that note in the mail one day after I received the EAD card, but if you check the unreliable case status online I don't see any touches on either of these (I-130/485) since late October when they mailed us the NOA1)

Like people say, you have to be patient, as nerve wrecking as it may be.

Good luck on the rest of your AOS journey!!!

Thanks, I live here in Houston, my company is sponsoring my residency here is the States. I thought I would get AD before the EAD, and I don’t know if I would get an interview letter, since my adjustment is not from Family based visa and probably that’s why my case is taking longer. My best wishes on your interview, don’t forget to post you experience. ;)

Thanks for your wishes !! :) ......I read so many postings here about people filing AOS after their marriage and so told you my thoughts...thinking about it, this forum section is for AOS of all kinds of visas ;) - not sure how cases based on an employment visa are processed, but nonetheless hope you have it all approved in no time - good luck again!!!

Hang in there - you should get your interview notice soon, again, pending the local office workload and employee availability. Maybe you get a nice surprise like me, I received the EAD card and next day had another envelope again - the invitation to the interview for me and my wife.

Congrats on the approved EAD though, something that can distract you during the wait :)

yay...congrats!!! ...doesn't it feel good to have something substantial in your hands from them? No RFE but rather the long awaited document that you can atlawfully work for the meantime!? :)

Hope you have the AP soon, too, but who knows, maybe you will have your interview before that and then there's no worries about that anymore

Maxximus - are you getting ready for the interview? Yours is one day ahead of mine.

Have you made a million copies of everything already like me? I have a bag full of stuff. If they want to see something during the interview, it may take me 5 minutes alone just to locate it. I mean, in addition to originals of everything already submitted, they also want now recent stuff, like 2 months worth of paystubs. Crazy!

I wanted to ask what a certified copy of marriage license looks like? Is that similar to a notarized document?

Thanks,

Thanks,

When we got married I paid extra for a certified copy of my marriage license. Its similar to a notarized document but to get the certified copy you have to go to the court house for one. The one I got was basically a front and back copy of my marriage license with an official stamp from the county court house. Hope this helps!

Thanks,

I so hear you ....I am still not finished getting everything ready but should be fairly soon, by the weekend - everything was distributed all over the couch at one point - so many papers and forms and copies, originals, too ...oh boy oh boy.... seriously, I am working on having it sorted in a folder like the original AOS Submission with dividers telling me where to find which forms and attached evidence so that I hope to find something right a way if requested by the IO....

As far as the copy goes, here in Cali, my county, there's a $18 fee for a marriage certificate at the Recorder's office. It's not dirt cheap for a sheet of paper, but on the other hand will have one to hand to the IO for my file rather then having it signed off as an official copy. I can imagine that you can either go to a recorder's office yourself or like someone mentioned, the court house with the original and your copy and they will put their seal, stamps and signatures on it.

Good luck with your interview!!! Keep us posted - from what I read here in reviews it seems that in San Francisco they barely give you their decision immediately after the interview but rather few days later......my appointment is around lunch time ...hmmm either the IO wants to get it over with fast and have lunch break or they are stuffed from eating - could be good or bad giggle.....
